About The Pool Doctor, Inc.
The Pool Doctor, Inc. is operated by Don Wall – President and Laurie Wall – Secretary. The company started doing business in 1987. For the past 20 years they have proudly served the community of San Diego’s pool and spa repair, remodel and construction needs. They have been licensed contractors since 1998 and specialize in pool and spa construction, remodel and renovation.
Previous to owning The Pool Doctor, Don worked as an Electrical Engineer and Laurie worked as a legal assistant. Both born in San Diego, and married for 26 years, they split their time between running the business and raising their two children. Coaching soccer, softball and baseball as well as camping, dirt bike riding, horseback riding and playing guitar are a few of the activities that their family enjoys.
Don currently takes care of field operations, including estimating and supervising, while Laurie manages the office. They have six full time employees. Most of their employees have been with them for more than five years.
Don is very involved in the pool industry. He has served several terms as the president of the local chapter of IPSSA, an industry trade association. He routinely teaches seminars at the annual pool and spa trade show as well as mini-seminars at local distributors. He has passed the nationally recognized Certified Pool Operator Course and is also Water Chemistry Certified by IPSSA. Don has completed several courses in pool design and construction including Vanishing Edge Design, Pool Hydraulic Design, Design Communication – Measured Perspective, and Technical Application of Water in Transit to list a few.
The Pool Doctor, Inc. specializes in pool and spa design, construction, and remodel projects. Hi Don,
Just a short note to let you now how much we are enjoying our pool this summer, after your remodeling of it in 2007. I do not know if you remember, but we picked THE single most expensive tile available (the two alternating flower tiles, I believe from Japan)... and it has definitely been worth it, as the pool is absolutely gorgeous. We have traveled to many nice resorts, and have never seen any tile this pretty. I often wonder why an upscale hotel such as the Four Seasons or Ritz Carleton does not use these tiles, as the cost to them would be insignificant, yet the effect striking. The remote control and pool fountain were also good ideas, so even though these added quite a bit to the final price, they were well worth it as well, and brought our pool into the 21st century. Thanks for doing such a fine job for us.
